Grandpa Jake's Dimes
When living at the Asbury Manor, Grandpa Jake would visit the gift store and ask for his change in dimes. He used the dimes to buy Peppermint Patties. He would leave these treats for his special friends at the Manor. Since Grandpa went to heaven, he has been showing us he is still watching over us by leaving dimes in special places.

A Trail of Dimes
For me personally, I've always believed that the discovery of a dime is Grandpa's way of telling us that we are on the right track . . . that he supports us . . . that he never left our sides. The pictures above are a reminder that whether it was my first or last day on the job, Susan's bachelorette party and wedding, doing laundry, or celebrating when I passed my boards, admidst the bustling holiday scene in NYC no less, he is always there.
So when someone recently asked me if I missed Jake, I quickly responded with, "No." It's as if he never left .

A Dime in the Classroom
The day before Thanksgiving one of my students came up to me and said, "Mrs. Osmond, I found this dime on the floor." I smiled and told him to keep it. Jake never visited my classroom but I guess he finally found his way.
"Gobble, Gobble till you wobble, wobble" Love you Grandpa!!!

Dimes Glorious Dimes!
I didn't get to write about the dime I found in the ladies bathroom at work about a month ago. It was a Sunday morning and I was vacuuming the rug and I saw something next to the base of the toilet and it was a dime. Jake really does have a good sense of humor!
Today I found another dime at work. They always seem to be out of plain sight for me. It's like he leaves them for me to find and nobody else. I was again vacuuming the rug at work and this time was in the break room. I usually don't vacuum the break room but it was a mess. I found the dime on the floor sort of under a cabinet - out of plain sight. And it's funny because I wasn't going to go in there but something told me to do it this morning so I did and it made my day. Thanks Grandpa Jake! Thanks for keeping me company it means the world to me.

Euro Day Spa
When I walked into work this past Sunday morning I thought I had found a dime on the floor but was disappointed when I realized that it was only a piece of paper that looked like one. "O well" I thought. About an hour later I went into the breakroom and something caught my eye on the floor again and this time it really was a dime. A nice and shiny one too. Made my day to know that Jake was there with me. Love you Grandpa Jake!

Dance Club Jake
May 30, 2010 - A good friend of mine is a DJ and invited me to her CD release party at a local dance club in downtown Orlando. She didn't go on until midnight and after working all day I took a power nap, downed some Diet Coke and got all dressed up. It's been years since I've gone to a club - seriously. Upon walking into the club something told me to look on the floor and whaddaya know - there was a dime right there for the taking! Haven't found one in months and I was super excited! Guess Jake was happy that I was out and about too!! Love you Grandpa Jake
